From Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu 'anhu) who said that Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa'sallam) said: A man went out to visit a brother of his in a different village, so Allaah, the Most High, put an angel in wait for him in the road. So when the angel came to him he said: Where are you going? He said: I am going to visit a brother in this village. He said: Is it that you have done something for him for which you seek repayment? He said: No, it is just that I love him for Allaah's sake. He said: Then I am one sent by Allaah to you (to inform you) that Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, loves you, just as you have loved for His sake.[55]

Hadeeth 42 : The Expanse of the Forgiveness of Allaah The Most High
On the authority of Anas (radiAllaahu anhu) who said : I heard the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) say :
Allaah the Almighty has said : O Son of Aadam, as long as you invoke Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O Son of Aadam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and you then asked forgiveness from Me, I would forgive you. O Son of Aadam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the Earth, and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it [too].
It was related by at-Tirmidhee, who said that it was a Hasan hadeeth.
Explanation of Hadeeth Number 42
In this hadeeth are immense good tidings, clemency and great generosity, and what cannot be enumerated of the types of Grace and Beneficence, Compassion and Mercy and what demands Gratitude. And similar to it is his (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) statement: "Allaah is more Joyous by the repentance of His slave, than the joy of one of you when he finds his lost camel [in the desert]".
From Abu Ayyoob (radiAllaahu anhu), when he was on his death-bed, that he said:
"Until now I have hidden from you something that I heard from the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam). I heard him say: 'If you did not commit sins then Allaah would create a new Creation who would then commit sins [and repent], so He would forgive them'".
And there are many other narrations which are in agreement with the meaning of this hadeeth.
As for His, 'azza wa jall, statement: "O Son of Aadam, as long as you invoke Me and ask of Me" then this is in agreement with His statement: "I [treat My Slave] in accordance to what he supposes of Me, so let him deem of Me whatever he wishes". And it has been narrated that when a Slave commits a sin and then feels remorse, and says "O My Lord! I have committed a sin, so forgive me, for surely none can forgive sins except you!"; so Allaah ta'aalaa says "My slave knows that he has a Lord, Who forgives sins and [also] punishes for them. So I testify to you that I have forgiven him". Then [the slave] does the same a second time, and a third, and so Allaah 'azza wa jall replies the same way each time. Then after that He says: "Do as you please, for I have forgiven you!", meaning when he commits a sin and then repents for it.
Know, that for the acceptance of Repentance there are three conditions:
cessation from the sin,
remorse for what has preceeded,
and firm resolve not to return to performing the sin.
And if the sin involved taking the right of another person, then he must hasten to return his right and absolve himself from this transgression. And if the sin was between him and Allaah ta'aalaa, and a kaffaarah (expiation) is required for this sin, then it is also necessary that he fulfills this kaffaarah, and thus this becomes the fourth condition [for the acceptance of repentance]. And so, even if a person were to commit a sin many times in a single day, and then repent each time with its conditions, Allaah ta'aalaa would still forgive him.
And His, subhaanahu, statement: "for what you have done" implies that Allaah will forgive despite the repetition of the sin.
And His, subhaanahu, statement: "O Son of Aadam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and you then asked forgiveness from Me, I would forgive you" means that if these sins had a physical form then they would fill the space between the sky and the earth - and this is the limit of multitude. However, even then His Generosity, Clemency, and Forgiveness are still more and greater than that, and there can not even be the thought of comparison between them. So the sins of the creation are wiped away by His Clemency and Forgiveness.
And His, subhaanahu, statement: "and were you then to face Me" means that if the slave were to die upon Eemaan, without associating any partners with Allaah. And there can be no solace or contentment for the Believer until he has faced His Lord. And Allaah ta'aalaa has said:
"Verily Allaah does not forgive that partners be asscociated with Him [in Worship], but He forgives [all sins] other than that for whomsoever He pleases" [Soorah an-Nisaa', 48].
And Abu Hurayrah (radiAllaahu anhu) said that the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
"Having good supposition of Allaah is from the best Worship of Allaah".
And Allaah knows best.
Summary :
That the door of repentance is ever open to a person
That Allaah forgives no matter how much we sin, as long as we truly repent
That asscociating partners with Allaah (shirk) is a sin which He does not forgive
That if we seek to live a life upholding Tawheed, then we have great hope that He will turn to us in Mercy

Al-Wadaa” Pilgrimage -the Prophet’s Farewell Pilgrimage
In the ninth day of Thul-hijja (the last month in the Arabic year), year 10 Hijri (after migration), the Prophet (PBUH) was surrounded by forty thousands of the companions reaching the range of vision. Rabi’a Bin Omaia Bin Khalaf was among them, he was repeating the speech of the Prophet to reach the ears of all people around.
The following eloquent speech was the last one before his death:
“O people, listen to my speech, I don’t know if I’ll see you after this year in this situation ever.
Your blood and money is prohibited to you like the holiness of this day, in this month, in this country.
Isn’t everything of the pre-Islamic period past, and the blood of pre-Islam is situated, and the first blood that has been shed from us was the blood of Ibn Rabiaah Bin al-Harris , he was breast-fed in Bany Saad and Hozil killed him. The usury of the pre-Islam is situated and the first usury to be lost from our usury is that of Abbas Ben Abd al-Muttaleb. All of this is situated.
So obey Allah in dealing with your wives, you took them with the probity of Allah and regarded their vulva as lawful with a word from Allah , and you’ll have them not to let someone you hate enter your home, and if they did that you’ll have to beat them but not severely.
I left to you what you will never be lost after it if you took refuge with; the book of Allah “ the Holy Quraan”, when you are asked about me, what are you going to say? , they said: we witness that you informed, guided, and advised.
He said with his forefinger pointed to the sky: Oh Allah witness that I have informed Your message…..”
After the Prophet finished his speech, Allah descended from heaven his holy speech:
(This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion) [Al-Maa’idah:3]
When Omar heard it, he cried. He was asked: what makes you cry? He said:” there is nothing after perfection but insufficiency“(Sahih al-Bukhary 148/5)
With this eloquent speech, the Prophet of Allah settled the rules of Islam. In addition, he destroyed the rules of polytheism and pre-Islam. He prohibited the illegal that religions agreed on prohibiting which are blood, money, and honor. He situated the issues of pre-Islam under his legs. He entrusted them to treat their women kindly ,he announced the nation that they’ll never be lost since they are following the book of Allah, then he told them that he is responsible of them in front of Allah. He interrogated them and they all said at one time:” we witness that you informed, guided, and advised. (Zad al-Ma’ad 233/2)
In the tenth of Thul-hijja, when it was forenoon, the Prophet made a speech in the day of immolation while he was on his mule Ash-Shahbaa, some of the people were sitting and some were standing. He repeated in this speech some of what he have said the day before, and he said moreover:
( o people: the postponing ( of a sacred month) is indeed an addition to disbelief: thereby the disbelievers are led astray, for they make it lawful one year and forbid it another year in order to adjust the number of months forbidden by Allah , and make such forbidden ones lawful.) [at-Tawbah: 37]
The year is twelve months in them four prohibited, three in sequence Thul-qe’da, Thul-Hijja, Muharram, and Rajab Mudher (Mudhar is a name of a tribe) which was between Jumadaa and Sha’baan.
The tripe of Moudher was one of the Arabic tripes which respect (persist in) the sacredness of the month of Ragab more than all Arabs. However, this persist is not only for Allah but it was a habit they inherited from their fathers.
The Prophet continued in his speech by saying:
“which month is this?” we said:” Allah and his Prophet know better.”, so he kept silent that we thought he is going to call it with another name. He said:” isn’t it Thul-hijja?” we said:” yes”. He said:” which country is this?” we said:” Allah and his Prophet know better.”, so he kept silent that we thought he is going to call it with another name. He continued ”so which day is this?” we said:” Allah and his Prophet know.” Therefore, he kept silent that we thought he is going to call it with another name. he said:” isn’t it the day of immolation?” we said:” yes.” He said your blood, money, honor are prohibited to you like the prohibition of this day, in this country, in this month.
In addition, you will meet your Allah, and he will ask you about your deeds, do not become astray after me beating each other.
“Did I inform?” they said:” yes”.
Muhammad said:” Allah witness, the present ones should inform the absent ones, and may be the one who will be addressed will be more conscious than the addresser. (Sahih al-Bukhariy 148/5)
The Message of Islam has been completed, and Allah finished the immortal Sharia even the morals whish the companions learned from their Prophet reached its top. Before that, they put their selves between the hands of Allah and his Messenger until Allah descends Quran from heaven:
[o you who believe! Do not put (yourselves) forward before Allah and his Messenger (saw)] (al-Hujuraat: 1)
Again the Prophet asked them:” which month is this? No one answered, while they know it is the prohibited month, but they all answered a polite answer:” Allah and his Prophet know better.” Then he repeated the question secondly and thirdly despite of knowing the answer, but they all answered:” Allah and his Prophet knows better” until he said:” Isn’t it Thul-hijja? isn’t it the day of immolation?” we said:” yes... yes... yes.
